Tan Chang Academy is a cultural heritage site protected by Hainan Province.

Tan Chang Academy is located in Laicheng Town, Chengmai County, dating back to the Qing Dynasty. It is a cultural heritage site protected by Hainan Province.

Protected area: The boundary is defined by the edges of the structure itself, extending 0.7 meters eastward, 1.5 meters southward, 1.1 meters westward, and 0.5 meters northward.

Laicheng Town: Located in the northern part of Chengmai County, adjacent to the provincial capital Haikou, Laicheng Town covers a total land area of 259.99 square kilometers. It has 18 village (neighborhood) committees, 76 natural villages, and a total population of 62,556. The total arable land area is 35,654 mu. The town hosts the largest and earliest-developed economic development zone in the province—the Laicheng Development Zone. To the east lies the Yuehai Railway Logistics Center; to the west are the national first-class port cluster of Macun Port; to the north are the Yincheng Resort and Bianwan Bathing Beach, popular tourist destinations; to the south is the Meiting Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Market of the county; and both the West Ring Expressway and the Yuehai Railway run through the area.
