Hongdoupo Egret Paradise

The Egret Paradise is located in Hongdoupo Village, Sanfa Township, Datong Township Area, about 2 kilometers north of Tuncheng Town. It is a natural landscape entirely protected voluntarily by local villagers, forming a vibrant “egret bird paradise.”

Since the 1960s, egrets have made their home in Hongdoupo Village and reproduced by the hundreds and thousands. To provide egrets with more and better conditions for living and breeding, the villagers planted large numbers of fruit trees on the barren slopes around the village, transforming the barren hills into patches of fresh greenery — a paradise where thousands of egrets now make their habitat.

Tip: Spring is the best time to watch the egrets.
