In 1922, the renowned revolutionary activist Comrade Jia Kangjie founded the Minban (People's) Middle School here. In 1929, the "Hedong Special Committee" was established here, with Jia Kangjie serving as the secretary.

The site, Beiduiyundong Cave, is a Quanzhen Taoist temple built during the Yuan and Ming dynasties. Existing structures include the Beiji Platform, Bifeng (Pen Peak), Sanhuang Pavilion, Niuma Shrine, Sanqing Hall, Zhenwu Hall, the mountain gate, and an archway. The main structure, the Sanqing Hall, features a five-bay width and two-bay depth with a flush-gable roof. A stone stele engraved with a panoramic view of Beiduiyundong Cave is also preserved.

Jia Kangjie, born in 1890 in Xia County, Shanxi, participated in the Xinhai Revolution, the anti-Yuan Shikai struggle, and the May Fourth Movement in his early years. He studied in Japan twice. In 1920, when Yan Xishan sold the rights to Shanxi's coal mines to Japan, Jia, representing Chinese students in Japan, returned to Beijing to rally the academic community in Shanxi to fight back, thwarting Yan’s scheme.

In 1921, he returned to his hometown and refused Yan Xishan’s attempts to buy him over, dedicating himself to mass education. From 1921 to 1933, he successively founded the Taiyi Primary School, the Xia County Minban (People's) Middle School, and others in locations including Xia County, Yuncheng, Linfen, and Taiyuan. Shuitou Town: Located at the western end of Xia County, Yuncheng City, Shuitou Town borders Wenxi County to the north, connects with Yanhu District to the south, and adjoins Yuwang Township and Huzhang Township of Xia County to the east. The terrain is higher on both sides and lower in the middle, with the Sushui River flowing from north to south. The town covers an area of 90.1 square kilometers, with 94,500 mu of arable land. It has 28 administrative villages, 46 natural villages, and a population of 43,337.

The area consists of an alluvial plain formed by the Sushui River, featuring fertile soil, abundant water resources, and convenient irrigation.
