Known as the "Little Huangshan," the Longsheng Hot Spring National Forest Park is located within the renowned Longsheng Hot Spring tourist area. Here, verdant mountains rise in tranquility, clouds drift lazily, and streams murmur gently, earning it the reputation of a natural oxygen bar. The park is home to a rich variety of rare plants and animals, with lush greenery thriving everywhere. The Asian highest suspension bridge soaring over Yanmen Gorge is the most thrilling sight, while the cliffside plank walkways meticulously built along sheer cliffs are truly breathtaking.

Centered around the Longsheng Hot Springs, the forest park is surrounded by mountains on all sides, covered with dense and towering secondary broad-leaved forests. It hosts 900 species and varieties of vascular plants from 500 genera and 176 families, including 9 species under national key protection. The swift flow of streams and waterfalls from high to low elevations drives the movement of humid air, creating an “air vortex” that results in high negative ion concentration—over 9,000 negative oxygen ions per cubic centimeter, hence its title as a natural oxygen bar. With elevation differences of over a thousand meters between high mountains and deep valleys, the park enjoys an average of only 3–4 hours of sunlight daily due to its location within dense forests. The climate is mild—warmer in winter and cooler in summer—with an annual average temperature of 17.1°C and a summer average of 24.1°C, more than 10°C lower than surrounding areas.

Key attractions in the forest park also include Monkey Mountain, Five Swords Mountain, Xinzi Mountain, Chessboard Mountain, Whiteface Rock, Feiyun Cave, Longyin Pool Waterfall, Seasonal Springs, and Yanmen Suspension Bridge. Rare plants such as ginkgo, beech, and keteleeria fortunei, along with rare animals like black bears, macaques, deer, musk deer, civets, and giant salamanders can be found here. The perfect blend of pristine nature and indigenous cultural authenticity is the greatest highlight of the Longsheng Hot Spring National Forest Park.

Admission:

Adult ticket: 20 RMB. Children between 1.00 m and 1.40 m tall receive a half-price discount. Free entry for children under 1.00 m.

Best Time to Visit:

All seasons are suitable. In summer, the park is lush and green, ideal for rafting. In winter, the hot springs are especially popular with visitors.

By Bus:

First take a bus from downtown Guilin to Longsheng County, then transfer to a coach to reach the park.

By Car:

Driving route: Downtown Guilin → Xiangjiang Hotel → Lingui → Airport Road Toll Station → Wutong → Wantian → Heping → Longsheng County → Head toward Longsheng Hot Springs. About 1 km before the hot springs, there is a suspension bridge, and the toll gate is marked “Longsheng Hot Spring National Forest Park.”
