Datang Bay is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Datang Jingyuan, also known as the Datang Bay Ethnic Minority Folk Culture Development Center, is built amidst green mountains and clear waters. It is a place of nature, tranquility, leisure, and elegance. Not only does it retain an original ecological atmosphere, but it also brings together the folk customs of various ethnic minorities from Longsheng Various Nationalities Autonomous County. The scenic area is just one kilometer from the hot springs. Its unique cultural landscapes and the spiritual beauty of its picturesque mountains and waters create an unparalleled charm. Here, you can experience a serenity and peace absent from city life—a dream of a grand folk song only read in poetry… With its meandering streams full of poetic charm, the ambiance of ethnic customs, a microcosm of folk culture, the fresh oxygen released by nature, and the fragrances of plants shifting through spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Golden light drapes over the scenic area, slanting sunlight illuminates the green hills, forest mist resembles ribbons, and clear streams wind around the garden—this is the true depiction of Datang Bay’s scenery. The local ethnic customs, artifacts, and culinary culture here are a microcosm of Longsheng’s minority groups. Stepping inside, you’ll encounter unique local bonfire parties and rich folk tourism activities that allow you to fully appreciate the various ethnic minorities of Longsheng, without being limited by travel constraints.

Longsheng has long been described as “eighty thousand meters north of Guilin, where ancient charm and folk customs amaze the world,” and is considered Guilin’s Shangri-La, with deep and magical ethnic cultures preserved everywhere. It offers a concentrated introduction to the authentic customs, folkways, and folk arts and cultures of ethnic minorities such as the Dong, Yao, Miao, and Zhuang. The entire performance process is humorous, harmonious, joyful, and smooth.

The display of folk customs and artifacts showcases the most primitive—and in some cases, nearly extinct—production lifestyles and agricultural by-products of various ethnic minorities, such as traditional handmade papermaking, oil pressing, wine brewing, hunting, crops including yellow millet, copper rice, chili peppers, mushrooms, wild vegetables, and various tools for production and daily life. This offers visitors a broadened perspective and inspiration.

The ethnic culinary culture is truly a highlight of the center. Especially the long corridor-style Long Table Banquet, which features a lively atmosphere, unique flavors, and fully embodies the characteristics of local folk food culture. At the same time, the center is also recognized as the “Guilin World Gourmet Expo Park – Northern Guangxi Ethnic Culinary Culture Research Base.”

Currently, the center has been listed as Guangxi’s only “Ethnic Minority Culture Demonstration Site” and “Home of Members of the Guangxi Art Photography Society.” The launch of the Datang Bay Ethnic Minority Folk Culture Development Center not only allows tourists to better understand Longsheng, but also adds another highlight to the tourism landscape of Greater Guilin.
