The Shijing Ecological Agriculture Tourism Area is situated to the north of Hengxian County, only 100 kilometers from Nanning. The Nanning–Wuzhou Expressway runs nearby. The scenic area encompasses the world’s largest ecological jasmine planting base. Nestled among hills and water, it features serene streams, emerald-green mountains, and a sound ecological environment, making it an agricultural tourism model spot in Guangxi. The area includes two main attractions: the “China Jasmine Garden” and the “Muxiang Ecological Garden.” Along the riverbanks, tall bamboo groves stretch endlessly, backed by verdant peaks and fragrant fields of blooming jasmine, creating a picturesque rural landscape.

Features: The area primarily focuses on jasmine cultivation, supplemented by sweet corn, strawberries, and various fruits and melons, making it a distinctive agricultural sightseeing destination.

Local climate: Nanning’s natural climate falls within the subtropical monsoon zone. It enjoys abundant sunshine, plentiful rainfall, little frost, and no snow. The climate is mild, with an average annual temperature of about 21.7°C. The coldest month, January, averages 12.8°C, while the hottest months, July and August, average 28.2°C. The annual precipitation is around 1,300 mm, ensuring ample rainfall even in the hot summer months. The favorable climate results in year-round lush greenery and vibrant blossoms, along with abundant local produce. Hence, the saying “grass stays green through winter, flowers bloom year-round” is truly fitting.

Accommodation and dining: There are 25 tourist reception households in the ecological park, capable of hosting 500 visitors simultaneously at a standard rate of 30 yuan per person. The guest rooms are clean and equipped with TVs, water heaters, and chess/card tables. Dining facilities are fully available.

Transportation: Starting from Nanning, take the Liunan Expressway, then transfer to the Nanning–Wuzhou Expressway. Exit at Hengxian’s Xiaoqi interchange to reach the scenic area in about one hour. Transportation is very convenient.

China Jasmine Garden: The natural conditions here are highly suitable for jasmine growth. The jasmine features large buds, white flowers, and strong fragrance. It is the largest jasmine planting demonstration base in Hengxian, where miles of jasmine fields stretch as far as the eye can see. The air is filled with the delicate scent of jasmine, making it an ideal place to experience the unique charm of “What a Beautiful Jasmine.”

The Jasmine Garden integrates functions such as scientific research and demonstration, sightseeing, and leisure experiences. It showcases the history of the jasmine industry, variety displays, functional applications, technological innovations, tea culture, and tourism entertainment, serving as a tangible representation of Hengxian’s title as the “Hometown of Jasmine in China” and a microcosm of its jasmine culture. The garden covers a planned area of 2,000 mu, with the first phase developing 500 mu. Facilities include jasmine science and technology planting demonstrations, variety viewing, cultural promotion, planting experiences, and leisure sightseeing.

Distinctive dwellings: The local houses are uniquely characterized by their uniform gray-brick enclosed courtyards. The architecture is simple yet distinctive, and most residences are well-preserved, presenting a cohesive and elegant appearance amid the green hills and clear waters.

Zhuang song fairs: The scenic area is home to Zhuang ethnic villages, with most local residents being Zhuang people known for their singing. The traditional Zhuang song festival, also called the “Third Month Third Song Festival” or “March Song Fair,” is held on the third day of the third lunar month.

Leisure and entertainment: The park features flowing streams, boat rides, bamboo rafting, forest fishing, and barbecue with wild flavors—all creating a harmonious unity between humans and nature.
