Pingxiang City World Rare Forest Ecological Park

The World Rare Forest Ecological Park is located in Xiashi Town, Pingxiang City, on the forefront of China-ASEAN cooperation. Established in 1957, it currently covers an area of 3,800 mu, with karst landforms to the north and small terraced hills formed by alluvial deposits to the south. The park has been honored with titles including “Educational Practice Base of the Forestry College of Guangxi University,” “Educational Practice Base of Guangxi Normal University for Nationalities,” “Guangxi Green Environmental Education Base,” and “Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Science Education Base.”

The park has introduced and preserved 1,398 species of rare and precious tropical and subtropical trees from 628 genera and 154 families, both domestic and international. These include the Parashorea chinensis, Camellia nitidissima, Alsophila spinulosa, Mesua ferrea, Gluta usitata, Cycas micholitzii, Glyptostrobus pensilis, Tsoongiodendron odorum, Excentrodendron hsienmu, Garcinia paucinervis, Cephalomappa sinensis, Betula alnoides, Swietenia mahagoni, Tectona grandis, and Diospyros cambodiana, among others. Of these, 86 species are under national protection, making it the forest ecological park with the most diverse tree species in Guangxi.

The park features lush trees, birdsong, fragrant flowers, year-round springs, murmuring streams, diverse vegetation, and beautiful scenery. It is also home to wild animals such as squirrels, pheasants, red junglefowl, leopard cats, masked palm civets, and muntjacs, offering a breathtaking natural ecological environment.
