Aidian Port

Aidian Port was first established in the 22nd year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1896 AD), originally known as Zhima Xun. It is one of the earliest border ports in Guangxi and has now developed into the world's largest border market for Chinese herbal medicines.

Aidian Port is a Class I land border port, located in Aidian Town, Ningming County, Guangxi, at border markers 1223–1224 on the China-Vietnam border, opposite Vietnam’s Zhima Port. Aidian Port is connected via a third-tier asphalt road along the border and links to three other roads within the region. It lies 190 km east of Dongxing City; 17 km south of Lùpíng County, 34 km from Liangshan City, 200 km from Haiphong, and 180 km from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam; 92 km west of Youyi Pass in Pingxiang City; 50 km north of Ningming County seat; and 185 km from Nanning City.

On January 12, 2015, the State Council of China, with State Council Document [2015] No. 7, approved the request of the People’s Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to open Aidian Highway Port to the outside world. The port is designated as a bilateral, perennially open highway port for both passenger and cargo transport. With this, Aidian Highway Port was upgraded from a Class II highway port to a Class I port.
