The Lingyun Stone Carvings are a cultural tourism attraction.

The Lingyun Stone Carvings are one of the most representative cultural landscapes in Baise, characterized by the karst mountainous region and the prefectural capital's historical features. According to a survey by the county’s cultural relics management office, the existing stone carvings in Lingyun are divided into 10 categories with over 130 pieces. The piece with the most characters contains more than 2,400 words, the largest measures 2 square meters, and the oldest dates back to the fourth year of the Jingtai era in the Ming Dynasty (1453 AD), making it 542 years old.

The content of the stone carvings includes contracts, poems, couplets, inscriptions, epitaphs, and essays. They are mainly distributed around the county town, with a concentration in areas such as Fen Zhou, Wuzhi Mountain, Shuiyuan Cave, Yuntai Mountain, Cuiping Mountain, Duxiu Peak, and Shoutao Mountain.

The Shuiyuan Cave cliff carvings have the highest number of inscriptions, totaling over 50 pieces. Most were created by local officials and notable figures, featuring titles, couplets, poems, combined poetry, prose, and stele inscriptions, recording the essence of literature at that time. The scripts include regular script, running script, clerical script, Wei script, seal script, and more — all kinds are represented with diverse styles, bold brushwork, exquisite craftsmanship, and significant literary and artistic value. This site is designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit.

Lingyun is an underdeveloped county. The most popular local dish is dog meat rice noodles, followed by Lingyun’s white-haired tea. In addition, there are countless local snacks, mostly rural fare, and it’s hard to find refined pastries here.
