Introduction

　 The Linjiang River Scenic Area stretches 37 kilometers from Latuo Village in Yangbei Township in the north to the confluence of Sanjiang River and Longjiang River in the south, encompassing three river sections: Xiajian, Gulong, and Xiangbei. The river water is emerald green, harmoniously blending with the surrounding landscape. Towering green mountains and ancient caves line the banks. This scenic area was designated as one of Guangxi’s scenic tourist zones in October 1988, alongside Bailong Cave.

The Xiajian River originates from Longzhou Island, located 8 kilometers north of Yizhou City, and flows downstream to the confluence with the Longjiang River at Sanjiangkou, covering a total distance of 17 kilometers. Along the river, visitors can enjoy lush peaks, graceful bamboo groves, and melodious folk songs. Notable attractions include Longzhu Villa, Longzhou Island, Longshui Villa, Xiajian Mountain, Handkerchief Rock, Xiajian Village, Mo Village, Mashantang, Liuhezhai, and the Third Sister Temple, as well as sites such as the Third Sister’s Singing Platform, the Love-Binding Tree, and the Sister-Watching Stone. Legend has it that Xiajian Village is the hometown of Liu Sanjie. On the cliffs of Xiajian Mountain, Liu Sanjie’s “wooden carrying pole” is said to be embedded in a rock crevice, remaining unspoiled for a thousand years. The walls of Handkerchief Rock feature inscriptions left by a Taoist priest begging alms during the Song Dynasty. The Xiajian River boasts wide, clear waters and clean sandy beaches, making it a natural swimming spot. Starting from Zhongjian Dam and boating upstream, visitors will pass by striking and majestic peaks such as Goose Mountain, Elder Mountain, and Daughter-Watching Mountain. There is also the Bamboo Slope Peninsula, covered in greenery and extending into the river, the Xiao Long River Bay that can accommodate tens of thousands for swimming and summer retreats, and the Longzhou Island Beach, dotted with pebbles in the middle of the river.
