Xiangbei River Scenic Area

Xiangbei River Scenic Area is located in the upper reaches of the Linjiang River, stretching 10 kilometers from Xiangbei Latuo Village in the north to Gulong Wharf in the south. Heading upstream from Gulong Bay, behind Che’tou Village lies a cave on the hillside with fantastical rock formations. Deep inside the cave, a stream flows all the way down to the foot of the mountain. Along the riverbanks, several ancient and mysterious large waterwheels slowly turn in the water. On the back side of Laguang Village lies the Pearl Cave, where the ground at the cave entrance is covered with countless natural stones of various sizes that look like glistening pearls. Stepping on them, the rolling stones feel smooth and wondrous. Inside the cave, there are several vivid stone dragons, thick as baskets and tens of meters long, coiled up. There are also towering stalactite umbrellas resembling giant bells and spectacular water curtain waterfalls. Going downstream along the river, you’ll find the Lychee Cave, whose entrance features a naturally formed stone archway dozens of meters high standing by the river. Paddle into the cave, and you’ll discover streams and waterfalls inside. By climbing up through the Tongtian Cave, you can exit the cave via a path at the back. In the middle of the river at Laguang Village ferry dock, there is a lush green bamboo forest oasis island, where the Big Waterwheel Villa is situated.
