The CPC Gaotang History Exhibition Hall

The CPC Gaotang History Exhibition Hall is a classic red tourism destination, as well as a base for patriotic education and national defense education.

The CPC Gaotang History Exhibition Hall is located on the west side of the Memorial Square in the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Gaotang County.

Construction began in May 2004, was completed in April of the following year, and the hall officially opened to the public on July 1, 2008.

The building faces east and has a construction area of 991.38 square meters, with two tall podiums, both featuring ethnic-style white marble railings. The railing posts are carved with cloud patterns, while the panels feature bas-reliefs of plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum motifs. The main structure stands imposingly atop the podiums, exuding solemnity and dignity. The overall roof is flat, with a circular dome at the center, supported by a steel frame and covered with glass. The walls on either side of the main entrance are adorned with four large bronze bas-reliefs depicting struggles during the Great Revolution, the Agrarian Revolutionary War, the War of Resistance Against Japan, and the Liberation War.

The interior exhibition space covers nearly 600 square meters, displaying over 700 photographs. It is divided into five sections: "Sunrise on the Plain, A New Chapter in the Revolution," "Smooth Transition, Exploring Forward," "Reform and Opening-Up, Forging Brilliance," "Scientific Development, Building Harmony," and "Sons and Daughters of Gaotang." Together, they present a comprehensive and systematic overview of the birth, growth, and strengthening of the Gaotang Party organization, and how it led the people of the county through revolution, construction, and reform. In 2010, to support the "Study Party History, Recall the Oath, Strengthen Party Spirit, Add Glory" theme campaign carried out alongside the county's Excellence Competition Initiative, the exhibition content was supplemented and refined to be more comprehensive and aligned with Gaotang’s actual conditions. The hall also displays over 100 precious revolutionary historical relics.

The CPC Gaotang History Exhibition Hall is the first county-level Party history exhibition hall in the province and the largest of its kind in scale nationwide. It is now recognized as the “Liaocheng Municipal Party History Publicity and Education Demonstration Base,” “Party History Education Base of the Law School at the University of Science and Technology Beijing,” “Party History Publicity and Education Base for the Excellence Competition Campaign in Gaotang County,” “Oath-Renewal and Collective Oath-Taking Base for Probationary Party Members in Gaotang County,” “Patriotic Education Base for Youth in Gaotang County,” and “National Defense Education Base in Gaotang County.” As an important stop on the premium red tourism route in Liaocheng, it attracts a large number of visitors each year who come to receive revolutionary tradition education.
