The Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival Film and Television Shooting Base was created by referencing the famous handscroll painting Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival by Zhang Zeduan, a renowned Song Dynasty artist in China. It also involved on-site research in Kaifeng City and comprehensive studies of Song Dynasty architecture and painting materials. Combining these with the needs of film and television production, the base was constructed with substantial investment over the course of one year and completed in December 1998. Covering an area of 500 acres, the base is divided into nine scenic zones, each relatively independent yet interconnected to form a cohesive whole. The area boasts a grand and magnificent atmosphere with picturesque scenery. Each zone features uniquely styled key attractions that offer delightful details upon closer exploration. Beautiful and delicate painted pleasure boats, towering memorial archways, and vibrant floral displays create a charming scene. Climbing to the majestic gate tower offers a close-up view of the entire base and a distant panorama of Hengdian City. The Bian River meanders from east to west through the city, with crystal-clear waters glistening under the sun. Willow trees line the riverbanks, dancing gracefully in the breeze, while schools of fish are clearly visible in the water. The bridges are uniquely spectacular—walking across the Hong Bridge, which spans 40 meters, is 11.5 meters wide, and 5.8 meters high, feels like stepping onto a rainbow and ascending to the heavens, creating an uplifting and breathtaking experience. Yet, while rooted in the Song Dynasty, it is not confined to it, making it suitable for filming period dramas set from the Han Dynasty onwards up to the pre-Republic of China era. To date, more than 20 production crews have completed filming here, attracting numerous celebrities, renowned directors, and A-list actors. In February 2000, Hengdian Group announced to the world that starting March 1, 2000, it would waive all location fees for film crews using its studios, offering everyone a greater chance to witness live film shoots and catch glimpses of the stars in action.

The hotel is fully equipped with accommodation, dining, entertainment, and conference facilities.
