Hengdian Red Tourism City is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a classic red tourism site.

Hengdian Red Tourism City, following the establishment of Hengdian World Studios, is another red-themed tourism destination in Hengdian. It focuses on promoting revolutionary traditions and integrates education, tourism, and leisure. This project was initiated by the Hengdian Federation of Social and Economic Enterprises in response to the central government’s call to develop red tourism. Its goal is to enhance education on revolutionary traditions, patriotism, and national defense, foster and shape national spirit, and strengthen the patriotic sentiments and national defense awareness of the public, especially the youth. It is a major cultural project of significant political importance.

Covering a total area of over 29,000 acres, with 98% being mountainous terrain, Hengdian Red Tourism City has a total construction area of more than 70,000 square meters and an investment of several hundred million yuan. It consists of the Hengdian Red Army Long March Expo City (Red Army Long March Theme Park, Hengdian National Defense Science and Technology Education Park), the Chinese Revolutionary War Expo City (including zones on Party history, Yan’an, the Eighth Route Army, the New Fourth Army, and the Liberation War), the Chinese Modern and Contemporary Celebrity Residences Scenic Park, the Jin Fuzhuang Martyrs’ Cemetery (Memorial Hall), and the Shao Piaoping Martyrs’ Memorial Hall, among others. The content showcases the arduous and unyielding battles fought by the Communist Party of China and the people's army it led during the Agrarian Revolutionary War, the War of Resistance Against Japan, and the Liberation War, systematically presenting the Party’s history and the military history of the people’s army. It features numerous revolutionary site reconstructions, detailed cultural relics, historical materials, photo exhibitions, vivid historical figure sculptures, grand recreations of historical scenes, and a wide range of weapons from traditional swords and spears to modern military equipment. It also includes everything from aerospace launch and control centers to integrated demonstrations of modern warfare, as well as many exciting and interactive activities for visitors. The site combines education with travel and entertainment.

Hengdian Red Tourism City serves as an excellent educational platform for learning about Party and military history, revolutionary traditions, national defense, youth quality education, patriotism, and the advanced education of Party members. It has been designated by national, provincial, and municipal authorities as a “National Defense Education Base,” “National Defense Publicity and Education Base,” “Patriotism Education Base,” “National Youth National Defense Education Practice Base,” “Youth Patriotic Education Demonstration Base,” “Integrity Culture Education Base,” “Militia and Youth Military Training Base,” and “Zhejiang Provincial Classic Red Tourism Destination for Youth,” among other titles. Additionally, Hengdian Red Tourism City offers comprehensive transportation, accommodation, conference, and reception services, as well as outdoor venues suitable for various types of events.

Hengdian Town: Located in central Zhejiang Province, Hengdian encompasses 67 administrative villages, 41 residential communities, and has a population of 86,000. In 2001, it achieved a total industrial and agricultural output value of 10 billion yuan, with a per capita income of 7,820 yuan for residents.
