Yuanming New Garden in Zhejiang’s Hengdian is a patriotic education base.

The Old Summer Palace, built and managed by six emperors of the Qing Dynasty over the course of 150 years with the nation's full resources, was hailed as the "Garden of Gardens" by the world but was brutally looted and burned down by the Anglo-French Allied Forces in 1860. On the journey toward the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the realization of the "Chinese Dream", Xu Wenrong, founder of Hengdian Group, founding father of Hengdian cultural industry, and chairman of the Hengdian Joint Creation, Shared Prosperity, and Common Wealth Committee, with the wisdom and courage of a Chinese farmer, personally served as the chief planner and commander at the age of 80. In just five years, he astonishingly recreated the historical Old Summer Palace.

Covering a total area of over 7,000 acres with an investment of 30 billion yuan, Yuanming New Garden in Hengdian has reconstructed 84% of the architectural landscape of the original Beijing’s Old Summer Palace and innovatively added 40% more structures. It integrates the finest of both Eastern and Western gardening arts, blends Chinese culture with diverse global cultures, and boasts “first-class imperial architecture, first-class Western architecture, first-class display and stage setting, first-class interior decoration, first-class fantasy technology, first-class entertainment performances, first-class horticulture, and first-class artificial water features.”

Yuanming New Garden in Hengdian is divided into four major zones — New Yuanming Garden, New Changchun Garden, New Qichun Garden, and New Changchun Garden (also known respectively as Spring Park, Summer Park, Autumn Park, and Winter Park) — along with Happy Night Fu Hai, Happy Night Yao Chi, Royal Animal Park, Royal Ice and Snow Park, Royal Entertainment Park. It also offers world-class, multifunctional, all-round high-tech entertainment attractions, China’s top-tier amusement rides, cutting-edge military-themed attractions, and the grandest folk museum.
