Temple Hill Han Tombs The Temple Hill Han Tombs are located in Miao Shan Village, Xinji Town, Yizheng City, 360 meters east of the Xin Zhang Highway, with the southern side of the tumulus adjacent to Chaguo Road. Centered around Temple Hill as the main tomb, this burial complex also includes the Tuan Hill to the northwest and Zhou Hill to the southeast as accompanying tombs. Based on the 1990 archaeological excavation of the Tuan Hill Han Tomb and historical evidence, it is speculated that the Temple Hill Han Tomb may be the tomb of either King Liu Pi of Wu or King Liu Fei of Jiangdu, with the Tuan Hill and Zhou Hill tombs serving as burial sites for their consorts or officials. The tumulus of the Temple Hill Han Tomb is of an inverted trapezoidal shape, measuring approximately 55 meters from north to south and about 40 meters from east to west. Remote sensing surveys revealed that beneath the 11-meter-high tumulus lies a rectangular pit measuring 32 by 18 meters, which contains a wooden-chambered tomb divided into a principal burial chamber and outer burial chambers, sized 18×18 meters and 14×18 meters respectively. This indicates that it is a large-scale earthen pit wooden-chamber tomb from the Han Dynasty. It is currently the largest known wooden-structured tomb from the Western Han Dynasty in Jiangsu Province, possessing significant historical, scientific, and artistic value. On October 22, 2002, it was designated as a Jiangsu Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Our village is situated in the northwest corner of Xinji Town, bordering Liuji Town of our city and Yangmiao Town of Hanjiang District. The Xin Zhang Highway runs through our village. Miao Shan Village was formed through the merger of the former Tea Farm Village, Forest Farm Village, and Miao Shan Village of Xinji Town. The village covers a social area of 5,500 mu, comprises 36 villager groups, has 853 farming households, and a total population of 2,944. Within the village area, there is a famous Han Dynasty tomb from the Western Han period, which has been listed as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
