Yizheng Library is located by Mirror Lake in the city center, adjacent to Yangzi Park. The new building covers an area of 3,600 square meters, with a construction area of 5,200 square meters, and has a designed collection capacity of 300,000 volumes. Its architecture features a novel design and a simple, elegant layout full of modern flair. The tranquil and refined interior environment complements the naturally scenic exterior, creating the ambiance of “a library reflected in the clear lake’s blue waves.” It is a landmark building where culture and contemporary spirit intertwine. The new building officially opened to the public on April 17, 2005.

Yizheng Library is a comprehensive library, serving as the city’s book repository and the citizens’ reading room. It fulfills the responsibilities of collecting, processing, storing, researching, utilizing, and disseminating knowledge and information. It provides services to government agencies, scientific research institutions, educational bodies, production units, and the general public. The library is also responsible for the city’s Cultural Information Resource Sharing Project and offers professional guidance to grassroots libraries (and reading rooms). It conducts research for the Yizheng Library Society, engages in regional inter-library exchanges and cooperation, and provides quality education and training programs.

Yizheng Library employs advanced technology to foster a progressive cultural environment, while fulfilling its role as both a “treasury of knowledge” and a “fountain of knowledge.” The new building houses 18 uniquely designed service windows to meet various reader needs. All paper-based books, newspapers, periodicals, electronic documents, and cultural information sharing resources are available for readers to browse freely. The library also offers a wealth of digital services including online navigation, virtual reading, and catalog searching. It operates 365 days a year.
