Guoshan Site is a protected cultural heritage site of Jiangsu Province.

Guoshan Site is located 150 meters east of Guoshan Group, Jiangning Village, Xinzhen Town, Yizheng City. The site is a circular high terrace with an average elevation of 10.1 meters, covering an area of approximately 73,000 square meters. The cultural layer has an average thickness of 2.8 meters, with a maximum thickness of nearly 5 meters, and the site’s deposits are extremely rich. The surface is covered with various fragments of pottery that were used as daily utensils from the Western Zhou to the Warring States period. The pottery is mainly made of sandy gray clay, sandy red clay, and geometric-patterned stoneware, with vessel shapes including jars, flat-bottomed basins, tripods, cauldrons, and beans. The decorative patterns consist of woven textures, cord marks, and geometric designs. The site is surrounded by clearly visible moats about 2–3 meters wide, resembling the layout of an ancient city, with evidence of second-level terraces and rammed earth structures inside. Discovered in 1999, this site is one of the better-preserved ancient cultural sites in the city. It holds significant historical and cultural value for determining the geographical location of the ancient Han Canal, studying the developmental sequence of Shang and Zhou cultures in the Yangzhou area, and exploring the origin and evolution of urban areas.

On December 19, 2011, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province listed it as a part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units.

Jiangning Village: Introduction to Jiangning Village

Jiangning Village is located in the northeastern part of Xinzhen Town, bordered by Youyi River to the east, Zhangji Street to the west, Miaoshan Village to the north, and Yanshan River to the south. The Nanjing-Nantong Railway runs through the southern part of the village, and Wenchang West Road crosses through the northern section. The total area of the village is 6.65 square kilometers, including 4,063.6 mu of arable land. The village comprises 35 villager groups, with a population of 1,069 households and 3,428 people in 2012, including 2,268 laborers.
