　The Nanjing Yangtze River Second Bridge is located 11 kilometers downstream from the existing Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, with a total length of 21.19 kilometers. It consists of the South and North Branch Bridges and is renowned as the finest cable-stayed bridge in China today. Nanjing Second Bridge Park is situated at the southern end of the South Branch Bridge. The park was built because of the bridge, and the bridge gains added charm because of the park.

Nanjing Second Bridge Park is China’s largest bridge-themed park in terms of construction scale and houses the most extensive collection of bridge-related materials. Covering an area of approximately 700 acres, the park features open terrain that complements the vastness of the Yangtze River and the grandeur of the bridge.

The park is divided into three main areas: the China and International Bridges Exhibition Hall, the riverside sightseeing belt, and the leisure activity zone. The Bridges Exhibition Hall boasts a modern and innovative design, utilizing advanced audio, light, and electrical technology to vividly showcase the construction process of the Second Bridge and a spectacular display of world-famous bridges. Visitors can reflect on the challenges of bridge-building and gain an overview of the global history of bridge development.

The riverside sightseeing belt was reconstructed from a flood prevention dike built to withstand a once-in-a-century flood. Stretching one kilometer in length, the scenic platform juts out over the dike. Sparse woodlands, grassy areas, and sculptural installations create a thoughtfully designed and picturesque setting. Whether looking up at the bridge or down at the river, greeting the morning sun or bidding farewell to the evening glow, the sightseeing belt offers countless perfect vantage points to admire the bridge.

The leisure activity zone includes a peony garden, plaza green spaces, restaurants and tea houses, and a children’s playground. Winding paths and lush flowers and trees provide a delightful space for rest and relaxation. Notably, the park’s signature flower — the peony — is cultivated here in the largest peony garden in the Nanjing area, featuring over 200 varieties and more than 23,000 plants. The best time to visit and admire the peonies is around mid-April each year. A sightseeing elevator takes visitors straight up to the bridge deck, and from there, a sightseeing walkway leads to the middle section of the bridge. From this elevated viewpoint, the majestic presence of the Yangtze River, the imposing beauty of the bridge, and the stunning surrounding scenery leave visitors enchanted.

The park has recently launched a new waterway tour route from Zhongshan Wharf Pier 2 — Yangtze River Bridge — Yanziji — Nanjing Second Bridge — Second Bridge Park, allowing visitors to experience the charm of the Second Bridge while cruising along the Yangtze River.
