Xiaoming Building

The Xiaoming Building is a protected cultural heritage site of Jiangsu Province.

The Xiaoming Building was built in the 1920s by French missionaries. It is one of the few well-preserved Western-style buildings in the Xuzhou area. The structure combines Chinese and Western architectural elements, reflecting the introduction of Western culture to China in the early 20th century. Located on the campus of Pei County Junior High School, the Xiaoming Building is a provincial-level key cultural relic protection unit. The Xiaoming Building in Pei County features a unique architectural style. While churches and affiliated facilities elsewhere mostly adopt Western architectural styles, the Xiaoming Building uniquely blends Western architectural characteristics with Eastern garden design elements — a rarity across the country.
