The Gaotang Reservoir in Xinyi was built in 1958 and renamed Shengquan Lake in 2006. The dam extends 5.3 kilometers in length. Shengquan Lake enjoys a subtropical climate characterized by mild summers and winters, with year-round pleasant weather. Shengquan Lake enjoys a prime location, situated just 5.8 kilometers from downtown Xinyi. It takes only 50 minutes by car to reach Lianyungang and 20 minutes to get to Baitabu Airport. The area is at the intersection of the Beijing-Shanghai and Lianyungang-Horgos expressways, adjacent to Provincial Highway 323 and National Highway 205, and Su-Xin Expressway will also start here. The Longhai Railway runs through the region. Once the eco-tourism resort project is completed, it is expected to attract a large number of tourists from Lianyungang, Suqian, Linyi, Xuzhou, Yangzhou, and other nearby areas for leisure and vacation.
