Wangsha Island Scenic Area — A Dreamy Black Sand and Azure Water

Wangsha Island Scenic Area is located in Hongze Lake, approximately 2 kilometers northeast of Linhuai in Sihong County. It is a beautiful and mysterious island on Hongze Lake. From the island, visitors can enjoy views of fishing villages shrouded in willow mist and boats moored along the shores, presenting a tranquil scene. The island features a unique geological structure, with a thick layer of black sand covering a hard clay substrate. Mixed among the sand are white shells, forming a natural black beach that creates a stunning contrast with the lake surface. The area where land meets water is flat, and during high water levels, it becomes submerged waist-deep, naturally forming a beach-like area. The island enjoys a pleasant climate with fresh and clean air. Over thirty types of aquatic plants thrive here, including reeds, lotus flowers, lotus seeds, and gorgon fruits, forming a natural green ecological oxygen bar. Surrounded by such serenity, visitors can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse themselves in the mystical beauty of the lake and water scenery — “as if floating above the world, transformed and ascending to immortality!”
