Constructed in 1954, Sihong Martyrs' Cemetery is a national AA-level tourist attraction, a patriotic education base of Jiangsu Province, a moral education base for schools in Jiangsu Province, and a county-level key cultural relics protection unit. The cemetery includes a memorial tower, whose front is inscribed with the eight large characters “Eternal Glory to the Revolutionary Martyrs” written by Comrade Deng Zihui. On both sides of the tower are memorial corridors that house inscriptions personally written by Comrade Chen Yi. The cemetery also houses a Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall, which boasts a rich collection, exhibiting a total of 344 historical photos, 18 sculptures, and over 100 precious cultural relics.

Martyrs' Tomb Area

In January 1957, the county Party committee and government relocated more than 150 martyrs originally buried across Sihong County into the cemetery. The graves are arranged in rows from east to west and columns from north to south. To commemorate the martyrs, inspire future generations, and enhance the cemetery's role as a patriotic education base, the tomb area was renovated in 2008. After renovation, the area covers 8,400 square meters and is divided into three sections: the Liberation War period section, with 29 named martyr tombs and 47 unnamed ones; the Anti-Japanese War period section, with 17 named martyr tombs and 60 unnamed ones; and the post-establishment of the People’s Republic period section, with 22 martyr tombs. The establishment of the martyrs' tomb area not only fully promotes the spirit of the martyrs, carries forward revolutionary traditions, and uplifts national morale but also plays an extremely important role in educating future generations and advancing local spiritual civilization.

Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall (North Hall)

The North Hall highlights the history of the revolutionary struggle of the people of Sihong from the Agrarian Revolutionary Period to the Anti-Japanese War Period. It features key figures such as Comrade Jiang Shangqing, founder of the anti-Japanese democratic revolutionary base in Northeastern Anhui and secretary of the Special Branch of the CPC in Northeastern Anhui, and martyr Yu Zunxia, an anti-Japanese heroine akin to Liu Hulan. The hall also houses precious manuscripts of the martyrs, inscriptions by national leaders such as [redacted] and Buhe, as well as calligraphy and paintings by renowned artists.

It also showcases the glorious history of the people of Sihong fighting for peace and democracy during the Liberation War period. The South Hall also briefly introduces, through sculptures, the revolutionary struggles of veteran revolutionaries such as Chen Yi, Zhang Yunyi, Peng Xuefeng, Zhang Aiping, Deng Zihui, and Liu RuiLong in Sihong.
