The Huaihai Anti-Japanese Democratic Base Memorial Hall is a classic red tourism destination.

The Huaihai Anti-Japanese Democratic Base Memorial Hall covers a construction area of 2,450 square meters. It was designed under the direction of Professor Qi Kang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The design is ingenious, grand in scale, and shaped like a “five-pointed star,” symbolizing the everlasting radiance of the communist spirit. The main structure consists of two floors, with a total construction area of 2,450 square meters and a floor height of 13.1 meters. The memorial hall is divided into six sections: 1. Igniting the Flames of Resistance; 2. Establishing the Huaihai Anti-Japanese Democratic Base; 3. Opening a New Chapter in the Huaihai Resistance; 4. Building an Impenetrable Defense Against the Enemy; 5. Securing the Final Victory in the War of Resistance; 6. Commemoration and Eternal Glory. The exhibits primarily feature historical photographs and artifacts, supplemented by landscape oil paintings, sculptures, holographic imaging, and film screenings. These displays aim to highlight the heroic and moving deeds of veteran proletarian revolutionaries such as Liu RuiLong, Deng Zihui, Peng Xuefeng, Zhang Aiping, and Jiang Shangqing, as well as the united, determined, and blood-soaked struggle of the Huaihai Party, government, military, and civilians during the War of Resistance against Japan.

The surrounding facilities of the memorial hall cover a total area of 36,600 square meters. Above the main gate of the memorial hall is a red five-pointed star, and below the star is an octagonal gate design representing the armed forces under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. On both sides of the entrance are two rectangular colorful sound-and-light fountains, with water jets dancing up and down like fairies in motion. Directly in front of the gate and extending eastward is a rectangular flower bed, symbolizing the people of Sihong paying tribute with flowers to the revolutionary martyrs. At the eastern end of the flower bed stands a large stone tablet inscribed with the bold red characters “Huaihai Anti-Japanese Democratic Base Memorial Hall.” Flanking the flower bed are two rows of 18 square pillars, each equipped with lighting. Together with the memorial hall itself, they symbolize the 19 anti-Japanese democratic bases across the country, shining brightly and standing majestically. The entire area in front of the memorial hall exudes a solemn atmosphere that commands deep respect.

To the south and on both sides of the memorial hall are landscaped plazas. Below the southern staircase is another rectangular fountain. Further south lies a square artificial pool, along with two rainproof leisure pavilions, stone chairs, and wooden benches. The plaza is shaded by lush green trees, creating a vibrant and culturally rich environment that refreshes the mind and leaves visitors lingering with admiration.
