Covering an area of 10,000 mu, the Reed Maze consists of 60 waterways stretching over 30 kilometers in total. It is the largest and most scenic reed maze in Jiangsu Province and one of China's four major reed marshes. Boating through its winding waterways, you can enjoy the picturesque scenery of the labyrinthine channels and the reeds that resemble a green curtain, as well as embark on a journey through time to explore profound cultural heritage, relive scenes from the Anti-Japanese War, discover the ecological civilization of Sihong, and experience the legendary tales of the great lake. The maze features reconstructed scenes such as ancient apes making wine, labor by the Xiacaowan people, prehistoric humans at Shunshanjidian, and Ji Zha hanging his sword. It also recreates historical moments like the flames of the Anti-Japanese War and the suppression of bandits in the wetlands. Interactive experiences include target shooting competitions, sending telegraph messages, and arm wrestling with New Fourth Army soldiers. Scenic spots like Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate and the Giant Dragon Emerging from the Water highlight the mysterious legends of the lake. The Hongze Lake Wetland Reed Maze combines elements of historical, revolutionary, and ecological tourism, and is hailed by visitors as "the premier scenic wonder of the Hongze Lake Wetland."
