Jingjiang, situated near the Yangtze River and close to the sea, boasts some of the best-preserved wetland resources in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze. With 52.3 kilometers (over 100 li) of riverfront, the area harmoniously blends natural scenery with industrial development, creating a unique and pristine Riverside Scenic Belt.

The Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge, which connects Jingjiang and Jiangyin, spans the mighty river with suspension cables as thick as small round tabletops. Its sweeping deck appears to emerge from the heavens, resembling a "cloud dragon" suspended above the vast river, majestic and imposing. Looking north from the bridge, one can gaze across boundless distances, taking in the breathtaking spectacle of river and sky merging into one, and the bridge seamlessly integrated with the waterway. On the northern bank, the flat expanse is dotted with port cranes, while river gulls soar and ocean-going vessels glide by. The Yuanwang survey ship lies still like a white swan, and the riverside park complements other green spaces nearby. The prosperity and vibrancy of this modern riverside port city unfold in full view.

The renowned Hundred-Li River Embankment is one of the most spectacular sights along the entire Yangtze River. Stretching 120.6 kilometers in total, standing 7 meters high, and 6 meters wide at the top, the embankment resembles a coiling dragon lying between the river and the land when viewed from above, faithfully safeguarding the safety of Jingjiang Port and its people. The abundant water and soil resources along the river also provide opportunities for aquaculture and agriculture. Currently, nearly 3,000 acres of land outside the embankment and around 4,000 acres on the inner slope are available for development. The clever integration of green trees along the dike, roads, fruit trees below, and fish ponds creates a scene akin to a masterpiece of artistry.

Port and dock construction represents a newly emerging highlight along the river. With the goal of establishing a billion-ton port by 2013, Jingjiang is amplifying the magnetic effect of its hundred-li Yangtze River shoreline, accelerating the development of open and functional port platforms. Since Jingjiang Port intensified efforts to build docks and harbor transportation infrastructure, the port has grown increasingly bustling and magnificent. Cargo ships line up along the riverbanks, cranes stand in neat rows on the docks, goods are stacked in orderly fashion in the yards, and five major industrial clusters—shipbuilding, specialty metallurgy, grain, timber, and energy—compete in vibrancy along the river. A modern port in the lower Yangtze region, full of charm and vitality, is beginning to take shape.
