The Ancient Zhelin Cultural Site is a protected cultural heritage site of Shanghai Municipality.

The Ancient Zhelin Cultural Site (Zhelin Guwenhua Yizhi) is located on both banks of the Xinkai River, west of Fengqiao Village Primary School in Zhelin Town, Fengxian County, about 300 meters south of the Shanghai-Hangzhou Highway. The site stretches 100 meters from east to west and 70 meters from north to south. Excavated artifacts include remnants of black-glazed pottery, T-shaped tripod feet made of sandy clay pottery, rectangular perforated stone axes, stepped stone tools, and willow-leaf-shaped stone arrowheads. These relics are attributed to the Liangzhu Culture and hold significant value for studying the ancient coastline and land formation history of the Shanghai area. In 1977, the site was designated as a municipal-level protected location.

Zhelin Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Fengxian County. Established as Zhelin Township in 1984 and upgraded to a town in 1994. Located in the southern part of the county, it is 10 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 26.4 square kilometers with a population of 15,000, it administers nine village committees — Fengqiao, Yingfang, Jialu, Fenghai, Donghai, Chuanbang, Jiaonan, Zhelin, and Fisheries — along with one neighborhood committee. The main agricultural products are rice, wheat, rapeseed, and vegetables. It serves as a major aquaculture base for Shanghai’s “Oriental Prawns.” Local township enterprises engage in industries such as electrical switches, mechanical equipment, chemical fibers, garments, plastic chemicals, and aluminum alloy rims. … Zhelin Town Detailed Information ++
