Nanqiao Buddhist Pavilion Moon City

Nanqiao Buddhist Pavilion Moon City is a cultural heritage site protected at the district level in Fengxian.

Nanqiao Buddhist Pavilion Moon City (Nanqiao Foge Yuecheng) is located on Renmin North Road, Nanqiao Town, Fengxian County. It covers an area of 1,360 square meters, with a built-up area of 741 square meters. Originally named Wenchang Pavilion, it was commonly known as the Buddhist Pavilion. Built during the Yuan Dynasty, it had a moon city constructed beneath it. In the 11th year of the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1861), Wenchang Pavilion was destroyed, leaving only the moon city. In the 5th year of the Tongzhi reign (1866), funds were raised to rebuild it, and the moon city was also renovated. In the spring of the 11th year of the Tongzhi reign, the Doumu Pavilion was reconstructed. It was listed as a county-level cultural heritage site in 1983.
