The Yilan Tuchengzi Site is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Era: Jin Dynasty

The Tuchengzi Site is located on the banks of the Mudan River, 45 kilometers directly south of Yilan County in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. It is a site from the Jin Dynasty period and one of the larger ancient cities along the lower reaches of the Mudan River. The site has an irregular shape, with a perimeter of 3,345 meters. The city walls consist of two layers, inner and outer, with a moat along the outer edge of each wall, except at the western end of the northern wall, which is close to a tributary of the Mudan River and thus lacks an outer moat. The raised earthen wall between the two moats forms the outer wall. The inner wall is 3 meters high, with a base width of 9.7 meters, while the outer wall is 2.5 meters high, slightly lower than the inner wall. The base width of the inner moat is 3.5 meters, and that of the outer moat is 4.6 meters. The total area of the city is approximately 67,000 square meters. Various pottery shards, roof tiles, and stamped hard black pottery fragments have been found on the ground and in the stratified ruins of the ancient city, along with relics such as iron pots with six handles and copper coins. The Tuchengzi ancient city was solidly constructed with comprehensive defensive facilities, making it one of the important garrison towns of the Jin Dynasty.

In May 2013, it was designated and announced by the State Council as part of the seventh batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
