New Japan-Urumqi Friendship Garden
The New Japan-Urumqi Friendship Garden is located on the renowned tourist destination of Sun Island, covering an area of 3.7 hectares. It was built to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of sister-city relations between Harbin and Niigata, Japan, and officially opened to the public in September 1989. This garden symbolizes the peaceful friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
The garden boasts beautiful scenery and a distinctive style, permeated with a strong essence of Japanese folk culture. It houses attractions such as the China-Japan Friendship Memorial Hall, a kimono exhibition room, a water room, and a tea house. It serves as a uniquely characterized reception venue for Harbin, receiving up to 150,000 visitors annually.
