The Han Jianmin Sino-Russian Oil Painting Collection Museum is located on Sun Island, a national 5A-level scenic area in Harbin. It is a comprehensive public exhibition hall professionally dedicated to the collection, creation of Russian oil paintings, and artistic exchange. Spanning an area of over 4,600 square meters, the museum has been designated as a Chinese Cultural and Art Base by the Russian International Academy of Culture and Arts.

Mr. Han Jianmin, the founder, as the first private entrepreneur in Heilongjiang Province to privately invest in building a platform for Sino-Russian cultural and artistic exchange—and who has made special contributions to such exchanges—was awarded the “Outstanding Contribution Award for Sino-Russian Cultural and Artistic Exchange” along with a medal in 2008, and the “International Cultural and Artistic Contributor Gold Award” with a medal in 2009, both conferred by the Russian International Academy of Culture and Arts.

The Han Jianmin Sino-Russian Oil Painting Collection Museum houses over a thousand oil paintings in various styles by academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts, world-class art masters such as Zurab Tsereteli, as well as paintings by People’s Artists and Merited Artists of Russia. The artworks, characterized by tranquility, tenderness, warmth, and aesthetic beauty, offer a unique visual impact and emotional experience.

Since its opening in July 2008, the museum has successfully hosted 23 exhibitions of premium Russian oil paintings as well as provincial exhibitions of oil paintings, fine arts, and calligraphy works, receiving over 60,000 visitors in total. During the annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival and the Harbin Economic and Trade Fair, 5 to 6 Russian People’s Artists and Merited Artists are invited to create and exhibit their works at the museum, and to engage in exchanges with their Chinese counterparts and oil painting enthusiasts. The comfortable and elegant environment, meticulous service, and stunning artworks have earned unanimous praise from domestic and international guests.

As a Chinese Cultural and Art Base designated by the Russian International Academy of Culture and Arts, the Han Jianmin Sino-Russian Oil Painting Collection Museum provides Harbin residents, professional groups, and oil painting enthusiasts from all over with a place to closely appreciate and study premium Russian oil paintings.
