Former Site of Heilongjiang Provincial Library

The Former Site of Heilongjiang Provincial Library is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Heilongjiang Provincial Library was first established in 1906 (the 32nd year of the Guangxu reign in the Qing Dynasty), originally founded as a library by the Educational Affairs Office of the Viceroyalty of Heilongjiang in Qiqihar City. In 1954, the former Heilongjiang Province and the former Songjiang Province were merged to form a new Heilongjiang Province, and the provincial capital was relocated from Qiqihar to Harbin. The original Heilongjiang Provincial Library was then renamed Qiqihar City Library.

In May 2013, the State Council (State Council Document [2013] No. 13) designated the Former Site of Heilongjiang Provincial Library as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
