Longsha Park

Longsha Park was first built in 1907 and covers an area of 72.5 hectares. As a comprehensive park integrating classical gardens, cultural relics, modern amusement facilities, and wildlife, it is known as the "Jewel of Longsha" and the "Finest Scenery in the Northern Frontier." It holds an important place in the history of modern Chinese garden design and is the largest comprehensive park in the three northeastern provinces.

Since opening to the public free of charge in 2004, the century-old Longsha Park has earned numerous honors, including National AAAA-level Tourist Attraction, Provincial Model Civilized Unit, and China’s first theme park dedicated to "Filial Piety and Respect for the Elderly." It welcomes over ten million visitors annually, drawing both locals and tourists alike. It serves as a cultural emblem of the region and a charming showcase of the city.

Longsha Park carries profound historical significance and rich cultural heritage, and it is the site in Qiqihar with the highest concentration of historical relics. Historic structures such as the Elephant Pavilion, Chengjiang Pavilion, Wangjiang Tower, Guan Di Temple, Shou Gong Ancestral Hall, Library Tower, and the Wang Dahuai Monument remain well-preserved and are listed as provincial or municipal cultural heritage protection sites. The Yu’ai Pavilion, Maxims Pavilion, Willow Shade Pavilion, and Russian-style Pavilion have been restored and reconstructed in traditional styles, reviving their original historic appearances.

The rebuilt Zigzag Bridge and Biyun Pavilion shine brilliantly, enhancing the charm of the lake and hills; developments such as Peacock Island, the Ten-Thousand-Square-Meter Orchard, and the Hundred-Meter Grape Corridor blend nature with distinctive local flavor; the "1907 Western Restaurant" offers refined dining; the annual Chrysanthemum Exhibition showcases a riot of rare blooms; the landscape design reflects thoughtful concepts; garden ornaments evoke deep artistic charm; amusement facilities are abundant and varied; the fitness square attracts throngs of citizens. Numerous research achievements in animal husbandry have filled gaps both domestically and internationally. Rare animals reside in the park for visitors to observe and scholars to appreciate. Since 2010, extensive park renovation efforts have been carried out, and the green coverage rate has now exceeded 90%.
