Qiqihar Jiangxin Island National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Qiqihar Jiangxin Island is located within the operational area of the Xinzhong Forest Farm, facing the Qiqihar Municipal Government across the river. It borders five administrative districts: Meilisi, Longsha, Jianhua, Ang’angxi, and Fularji. Surrounded by water on all sides, the island spans approximately 8 kilometers from east to west and about 10 kilometers from north to south, with a wetland coverage rate of 13.96%.

The wetland resources of Jiangxin Island are primarily characterized by the ecological resources of the Nenjiang River, encapsulating the essence of the entire Nenjiang River basin. Its main features include: extensive wetland areas. As a typical representation of the wetlands in the Nenjiang River basin, Jiangxin Island boasts relatively large wetland areas, with a total of 685 hectares of various types of wetlands, making it one of the less-developed, expansive wetland zones near the city. Beautiful wetland landscapes. The island’s main waterway is the Lianjiang Stream, which meanders through the area with numerous sandy beaches and islets. The surface is largely covered by grasslands and large marshes. The Nenjiang River, as it flows through Jiangxin Island, changes with the seasons—sometimes trickling like a brook, sometimes spreading widely—creating the unique landscape of an “island in the river.” Rich wetland biodiversity. The island is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including 454 species of vascular plants from 61 families, accounting for about 26.63% of Heilongjiang Province’s plant species. There are also 2 nationally rare and endangered protected plant species, as well as 333 species of vertebrates from 77 families, 35 orders, and 6 classes, among which there are 2 species under national first-class protection, 35 species under national second-class protection, and 42 species under Heilongjiang Provincial protection.
