The Miaoxiang Mountain Ecotourism Area is located in the southern part of Weixing Town, Wangkui County, Heilongjiang Province. It spans 4 kilometers from north to south and 5 kilometers from east to west, covering a total area of 57,000 square meters. This includes 44,000 square meters of green space, 13,000 square meters of water bodies, and 1,000 square meters of built-up area. Currently, bridges, culverts, pavilions, an aquatic amusement park, temples, roads, water and electricity infrastructure within the park have taken initial shape. The total development area covers 20 square kilometers. The region lies within the transitional zone at the southern edge of the Lesser Khingan Mountains, featuring a terraced terrain that slopes from north to south. The northern part consists of rolling hills, the central area is alluvial plain, while the southern part includes marshlands, floodplains, and the Hulan River. The development zone is just 1 kilometer from the center of Weixing Town, 19 kilometers from Wangkui County, and 31 kilometers from Suihua City, making it highly accessible. Among its features, the Suiwang Bridge, built with an investment of 66 million yuan, has become the “golden aerial corridor” and “skyway” for visitors entering the Miaoxiang Mountain Ecotourism Development Zone. Together with the old bridge and Hongguang Temple, it forms the “Golden Triangle” of the tourism area.

Nestled against mountains and beside water, the Miaoxiang Mountain Ecotourism Area is charmingly picturesque. The undulating peaks of Miaoxiang Mountain stretch continuously from east to west, lush and verdant. The mountains are ablaze with blooming flowers and alive with birdsong; ancient trees tower over the hillsides while springs trickle through the valleys; below, the Hulan River resembles a rainbow lying across the waves, its surface shimmering under the sun. In misty rain, the scenery takes on a mystical aura. Amidst the landscape of water and mountain, hidden in the shade of green foliage, one often sees birds soaring and hares darting—offering a glimpse into the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. In 1987, Comrade Chen Lei visited Miaoxiang Mountain and was inspired to write the line “Try to ascend to the very peak, and you’ll find all other mountains small,” bestowing upon Miaoxiang Mountain the affectionate title of the “Little Mount Tai.”

Within Miaoxiang Mountain Park, rivers crisscross, peaks rise in layers, and the natural scenery is enchanting. The area boasts lush forests, abundant flowers and grasses, and a wide variety of bird species, well known for its pristine ecological environment and beautiful mountain-water vistas.

It is the perfect destination for travelers. Ancient thousand-year-old elm trees, White Stone Particles, the Blue Head Ancient Ruins, Hongguang Temple, and holiday resorts attract tens of thousands of visitors. Miaoxiang Mountain stands majestically lush, the Hulan River runs clear and blue, monks throng the halls of Hongguang Temple, and the resort offers comprehensive services. Strolling through these surroundings, visitors find it hard to tear themselves away.
