Ke Yin River

Ke Yin River. The Ke Yin River serves as the boundary river between Suileng County and Hailun City. It is the second-largest river in our county, a secondary tributary of the Hulan River, and the largest tributary of the Numi River. It has two sources: eastern and western. The eastern source originates from Muerying Mountain in the Banjiehe Forest Farm at the southern foothills of the Lesser Khingan Mountains in the northern part of the county, while the western source rises from the Bulun Mountain in the eastern part of Hailun City. The two sources converge in Shuangchaha Town within the county and then flow gently southwestward. The Ke Yin River stretches 90 kilometers within the county, covering a drainage area of 1,033 square kilometers. Along its course, the flat fertile lands on both banks are contiguous, making it a well-known “land of fish and rice.” The Nierjigen River, also called the Moore River, is the boundary river between Suileng County and Qing’an County. It is also the third-largest river in our county. It originates from Hai’tong Mountain, a branch of the Qingshui Mountain range on the border between Suileng and Qing’an, and eventually flows northward through Nierhe Township into Beilin District. With a total length of 88 kilometers, 53 kilometers of which lie within the county, it drains an area of 185 square kilometers. Its upper reaches feature vast wilderness, while the lower reaches consist of expansive plains. The abundant surface water resources provide convenient irrigation conditions for the agricultural areas along its path.
