The Suiling Forestry Bureau Ecological and Cultural Tourism Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Suiling Forestry Bureau Ecological and Cultural Tourism Scenic Area is located within Suiling County, Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province, and is under the administration of the Suiling Forestry Bureau of the Heilongjiang Forest Industry. It is currently a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. The development of this scenic area not only relies on the unique natural advantages of the Suiling forest region but also reflects the harmony between humans and nature at the foot of the Lesser Khingan Mountains, and bears the distinct imprint of the forest industry.

The Heilongjiang Suiling Forestry Bureau Ecological and Cultural Tourism Scenic Area includes the 28,800-square-meter Suilin Cultural Park, the 30,000-square-meter Dingshengyuan Square, the 70,000-square-meter Botanical Kingdom, as well as the 699 Cultural Communication Center (Golden Key Tower), the Suiling Forest Region Museum, the urban roundabout island, the forest region folk culture street, and the forest small train sightseeing tour. In May 2015, the Suiling Forestry Bureau Ecological and Cultural Tourism Scenic Area was included in the first batch of “National Trustworthy Tourism Price Scenic Areas” announced by the National Tourism Administration.

The Suiling Forestry Bureau Ecological and Cultural Tourism Scenic Area is situated on the southwestern foothills of the Lesser Khingan Mountains in Heilongjiang Province. Here, rolling mountains stretch as far as the eye can see, vast and profound in history, rich in human culture, making it a shining pearl by the Numin River.

The ecological and cultural characteristics of the Suiling forest region have been shaped through years of accumulation, emerged through development and transformation, or evolved as variations and extensions of Guandong culture. The ecological environment here is naturally pristine, the folk customs uniquely distinctive, and the cultural charm deeply captivating. Here, natural landscapes and humanistic elements blend seamlessly, with eight representative attractions including the Suilin Cultural Park, Dingshengyuan Square, Botanical Kingdom, Urban Roundabout Island, Forest Region Folk Culture Street, Hongchi Pond, 699 Cultural Communication Center, and Suiling Forest Region Museum.

The Suiling Forestry Bureau Ecological and Cultural Tourism Scenic Area features over ten natural and cultural attractions, including: the Suilin Cultural Park, Dingshengyuan Square, Botanical Kingdom, Urban Roundabout Island, Suiling Forest Region Museum, 699 Cultural Communication Center (Golden Key Tower), Wu Baosan Literature Museum, Forest Region Folk Culture Street, Hongchi Pond, Moral Virtue Archway, Hedge Maze, Yuqing Garden, and the Forest Tourism Small Train Station.

Suilin Cultural Park

The Suiling Forest Region Cultural Park was built in 2008, centered around the Cultural Palace Square, with large electronic musical fountains, a hundred-meter-long cultural relief wall, and various themed sculptures and small pieces set up on both the east and west sides, covering a total area of 28,800 square meters. The park displays many historical and folk objects that record the vicissitudes of the forest region, striving to showcase the unique humanistic landscape and profound historical heritage of the Suiling forest region through these accumulated cultural elements. Visiting here is like taking a journey through time and space—reflecting on the hardships of history, appreciating the charm of cultural exploration, and gathering strength for the future.

Dingshengyuan Square

Dingshengyuan Square was built in 2009, covering a total area of 30,000 square meters. It is a large-scale park integrating spiritual dissemination, cultural education, and leisure sightseeing. At the center of the park stands the central building inscribed with the core values of the enterprise, symbolizing the origin of the prosperity of the Suiling forest region—the Dingshengyuan. Its main structure is a golden tripod. The tripod stands 6.6 meters high, symbolizing both the traditional meaning of “smoothness in all six aspects” and the “six pillars” strategy of the Suiling Forestry Bureau: revitalizing the enterprise through industrial development, enriching the people through diversified operations, strengthening the foundation through forestry, shaping the image through environmental optimization, uniting people through corporate culture, and promoting harmony through social construction.

Botanical Kingdom

The Botanical Kingdom is located at the western end of the Suiling Forestry Bureau headquarters, adjacent to Dingshengyuan Square. Originally a wetland on the outskirts of the small Suiling town, after years of management and construction, it has become a large-scale ecological landscape park covering 70,000 square meters, integrating leisure, tourism, cultural popularization, and scientific education. A 9.9-meter-tall Forest Goddess statue stands tall in the park, and the crescent-shaped artificial lake features the largest wooden waterwheel in Northeast China. A nearly 50-meter-long floating bridge spans the shimmering blue waves, and hundreds of species of wild plants from the Lesser Khingan Mountains make this a true botanical museum. It is a world of Lesser Khingan Mountains flora, a classroom for traditional culture, and a successful example of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.

Urban Roundabout Island

The Urban Roundabout Island is located in the central area of Yucailu Road in the Suiling Forestry Bureau. Built in 2010, it is a long, narrow park featuring vegetation and artificial animal landscapes. Here, you can find soaring white doves, fluttering butterflies, running deer, lying cows, as well as lively rabbits and elephants with long trunks. There are also 312 trees including birch, Korean pine, Siberian pine, mountain peach, cherry plum, mountain apple, and oak, and 1,455 shrubs such as lilac, peach blossom, red-stem dogwood, four-season rose, elderberry, and honeysuckle. They live together on the 7,500-square-meter green roundabout island, composing a symphony of harmony in the forest region.

Forest Region Folk Culture Street

The Forest Region Folk Culture Street is located east of the Suiling Forestry Bureau government center. This street has undergone sixty years of historical changes and baptism, recording the rise and fall of a nation’s history and bearing the cultural memory of an era. It is the best gift bestowed by history upon the people of the forest region. This land has nurtured the hardworking and brave Suilin people and left behind unforgettable local customs and traditions. Walking into the folk culture street, you can admire the display panels of forest region social management innovation work presented in the form of northern woodblock prints, appreciate the classic content of Suiling forest region folk culture on stone relief carvings, and experience the unique charm of forest region folk culture.

Suilin Hotel · Hongchi

The Suilin Hotel was built in 2007. With its European-style architecture, it is known as the “Little White House of the Forest Region.” The incorporation of Western architectural elements gives it an elegant, dignified, and romantic atmosphere. The scenery within the “Hongchi” area where the hotel is located has a strong Eastern flavor—reminiscent of the Jiangnan water town style, with small bridges over the pond and wooden houses hidden among the bushes, perfectly echoing the classic poetic line, “Withered vines, old trees, dusky crows; small bridges, flowing water, homes.” It offers a unique poetic and picturesque charm. The fusion of Eastern and Western garden landscapes forms a beautiful picture of harmony between humanity and nature.

699 Cultural Communication Center

The 699 Cultural Communication Center was built in 2013 and is one of the landmark buildings in the Suiling forestry region. It is currently the second tallest building in Suiling and is also known as the “Golden Key Tower” because of its resemblance to an upside-down golden key. The entire building is over 60 meters tall, with 21 floors, housing cultural communication and commercial entertainment venues such as the Confucius Academy, wellness center, dining bar, and 3D cinema. The top floor features an open-air observation deck. Standing atop this skyscraper that outlines the city’s skyline, you can enjoy the tranquil and harmonious urban scenery of the small forest region town and the distant green mountains and peaks. With a telescope, you can even gaze at the vastness of the universe.

Suiling Forest Region Museum

The Suiling Forest Region Museum was completed in 2014 and officially opened in January 2015. The museum has two floors and is divided into 8 exhibition areas based on the 60-plus years of development and changes in the Suiling forest region. Upon entering the museum and climbing the semi-circular staircase, you will be surrounded by towering Korean pines and poplars, lifelike birds, animals, insects, and fish, as well as surging rivers and misty waters, making you feel as if you are in the midst of a vast forest. The Suiling Forest Region Museum is not only a historical exhibition hall but also a folk custom expo and an art gallery. It showcases paintings, calligraphy, sculptures, and more through various artistic forms, using sound, light, electricity, and realistic scenes. The museum also displays and collects numerous exhibits from the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Republic of China, and the early years of New China’s construction, becoming a cultural treasure trove that showcases and freezes the development of the times.
