Linhai Qishi National Forest Park is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction, a national forest park, and a science education base.

Linhai Qishi National Forest Park is located 8 kilometers from the urban area of Tangwanghe District. It is an ecological tourism zone and national geological heritage park composed of both cultural and natural landscapes. The scenic area is divided into eight major areas: Natural Pasture, Snowy Pine Forest, Stream Wetland, Ethnic Culture, Landscape Sightseeing, Xing'an Stone Forest, Autumn Pine Forest, and Flower Viewing. The area features towering, gravity-defying rock formations, ancient towering pines, vivid and expressive bizarre rocks and trees rich in symbolism, all appearing remarkably lifelike.

The southern zone features the main landmark stone “Xiaoxing'anling Stone Forest,” inscribed in 1993 during an inspection visit by Chen Lei, former Governor of Heilongjiang Province and Honorary Chairman of the Heilongjiang Calligraphers Association. Notable attractions include “One-Line Sky,” “Arhat Turtle,” “Majestic Peak,” and “Mountain-Protecting General.” The western zone showcases uniquely mythical landscapes formed around sites with traditional stories, such as “Sword-Cleft Mountain,” “Heavenly Dog Rock,” “Cloud-Boot Peak,” and “Drunken Turtle Rock.”

The northern zone reflects folk legends and customs, highlighted by “Zhong Kui Cliff,” where the figure holds a demon-subduing staff and wears a ghost-expelling whip, along with the lush and mysterious “Secluded Valley” and “Peach Blossom Ridge.” The central zone primarily features iconic rock formations resembling objects and figures, including “Dragon Head Rock,” “Dragon and Phoenix in Harmony,” “Guanyin,” “Reclining Ox,” “Xing'an Ganoderma,” “Sky-Repairing Stone,” and “Longevity Turtle.” The area also boasts geological phenomena, landforms, and rock wonders of high scientific and educational value. Truly, there is a unique view at every step, each evoking deep emotion.

Tangwanghe Stone Forest

In 2007, Tangwanghe Stone Forest was rated as a national AAAA-level tourist scenic area. It is located in Tangwanghe District (Bureau), in the northern part of Yichun, the "Forest Capital," with geographical coordinates between 129°15′00″–129°30′00″ east longitude and 48°23′00″–48°29′36″ north latitude. The elevation ranges from 385m to 703m, and the total area covers 190 square kilometers.

The scenic area boasts lush vegetation and verdant mountains, with a forest coverage rate exceeding 99.8%. It is home to over 1,240 species of plants, animals, insects, and birds. Strolling along the serene paths shaded by ancient trees and birch, you can enjoy the chirping of birds, watch the swaying pines and cypresses, smell the faint fragrance of azaleas, and admire the peculiar rocks of Xing'an. Coupled with cascading streams and natural oxygen bars, it is truly a paradise on earth.

The scenic area features about a hundred granite stone peaks that form a unique geological and geomorphological landscape. These formations originated during the Indosinian movement 200 million years ago. Later shaped by the Yanshan and Himalayan movements, they formed the modern landform. The various styles of granite stone pillars appear like a forest from afar, hence the name “granite stone forest.” These granite pillars have been formed over hundreds of millions of years through tectonic compression, crustal uplift and subsidence, coupled with water erosion, weathering, and chemical actions. Some rise abruptly from the ground, tall and steep, with sheer, knife-edge-like walls; some are distributed along the mountain range, varying in height and resembling birds and beasts, with diverse shapes; others are scattered among the woods, exquisitely crafted as if by nature’s artistry, forming a myriad of strange and fantastic rocks. These include various forms such as columns, towers, cones, mushrooms, fortresses, and castles. The area displays typical geological features such as isolated granite peaks, peak forests, peak clusters, collapses, structural fissures, and periglacial stone seas. It is the only site in China discovered so far with the richest shapes, most complete types, and most typical features of Indosinian granite geological heritage, offering high scientific, aesthetic, and sightseeing value.

The scenic area’s geological relics are well-preserved, with diverse flora and fauna and a primitive, pristine natural ecology. It combines mountains, water, forests, springs, and caves, integrating strange rocks, breathtaking scenery, and unique peaks. It embodies the mystical, ancient, elegant, serene, and beautiful charm of the great forest. In winter, the vast snowy landscape of “thousands of miles frozen, tens of thousands of miles snow-blanketed” inspires awe, while in summer, the eco-tourism experience of “walking in the mountains without rain, yet feeling the lush green dampen your clothes” immerses you in a return to simplicity. This is an ideal destination for forest eco-resort stays, ice and snow sports, leisure sightseeing, hiking and exploration, source river rafting, science education, physical fitness, and scientific research.
