Drifting at the Source of the Tangwang River

Starting from Wanghu Pavilion and following the Wuxun Highway along the banks of the Tangwang River, it takes about an hour to reach the source of the Tangwang River. Amid the distant and nearby mountains lies an open area dotted with tussocks, where a cement monument stands among wildflowers and weeds. This is the Tangwang River Source Monument erected by the Yichun Municipal Government in 1987. The source of the Tangwang River is just a small stream hidden among the weeds, less than a foot wide.

The Tangwang River is formed by the convergence of the East Tangwang River and the West Tangwang River, stretching a total of 306 kilometers. The drifting route features lush vegetation, significant drops, fast currents, and numerous river stones, offering a pristine and picturesque natural landscape. It also passes by the confluence where the East and West Tangwang Rivers merge to form the main Tangwang River. There are two drifting routes available: the “Leisurely Source Drift” lasting three hours, and the “Thrilling Rapids Drift” also lasting three hours.
