Jiejinkou Hezhe Ethnic Tourism Resort is located in Jiejinkou Hezhe Township, Tongjiang City. The Hezhe people are an ancient ethnic group and one of China’s smaller officially recognized ethnic minorities. Over their long history of fishing and hunting, they have developed a unique culture.

The Hezhe Cultural Village within the resort blends the natural surroundings with ethnic culture. Through a concentrated display of Hezhe village architecture, large-scale sculpture groups, ethnic religious customs, historical culture, folk songs and dances, traditional costumes, and handicrafts, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of Hezhe customs and way of life. The Hezhe Exhibition Hall in the cultural village recreates the history of the Hezhe people as well as their fishing and hunting lifestyle, cultural arts, daily customs, and religious beliefs through tangible artifacts and materials.

Visitors can also pay a visit to Hezhe homes, sample distinctive local cuisine, and experience Hezhe traditions firsthand. They may also purchase unique Hezhe fish-skin handicrafts. The Hezhe people are the only one of China’s 56 ethnic groups to traditionally wear clothing made from fish skin. Their fish-skin jackets are often adorned with patterns of waves and clouds cut from fish skin, symbolizing the Hezhe people’s life amid green mountains and clear waters. Fish-skin paintings, ornaments, and other handicrafts, as well as fish-skin bags and shoes, have become popular souvenirs among tourists.
