The Memorial Site of the "Eight Women Who Threw Themselves into the River" is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, a cultural relics protection unit of Heilongjiang Province, a classic red tourism destination, and a patriotic education base.

The Memorial Site of the "Eight Women Who Threw Themselves into the River" scenic area is situated on the banks of the Wusuhun River in Diaoling Town, Linkou County. It was developed and built in 2009, featuring an artificial lake spanning 70,000 square meters, a 1,600-square-meter "Eight Women Who Threw Themselves into the River" Memorial Hall, a 50,000-square-meter cultural stele corridor, sculptures, a memorial square, a tourism service area, a scenic road bridge, a mountain-surrounding anti-Japanese resistance road, parking lots, and more.

Six of the eight martyred women were from Linkou. At the critical moment of life and death, they used their flesh and blood to forge the immortal soul of the Chinese nation, creating a timeless and glorious chapter in the history of China. The story of the "Eight Women Who Threw Themselves into the River" has been adapted into several films and TV dramas, such as *Blood on the Frozen River* and *Children of China*, and novels based on the incident have also been published. The martyrs have been featured in publications including *Chinese Female Martyrs*, *China Tourism Dictionary*, *History of Manchukuo*, and the *World Anti-Fascist War Women Heroes Directory*.

In 1982, the Linkou County People's Government erected a monument to the Eight Women Who Threw Themselves into the River on the banks of the Wusuhun River. In 1999, the site was designated as a provincial-level cultural relics protection site by the provincial government. In 2010, it was named a provincial-level patriotic education base by the provincial Party committee and government. On September 14, 2009, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the "Eight Women Who Threw Themselves into the River" were honored as one of the 100 heroes and role models who made outstanding contributions to the founding of New China. On September 18, 2011, the Memorial Hall was fully completed and had initially reached the scale of a national-level patriotic education base. The Memorial Site of the "Eight Women Who Threw Themselves into the River" scenic area was rated as a national AAA-level tourist attraction in 2011, receiving nearly 100,000 visitors annually.
