Diaoling Four Martyrs Cemetery is a classic red tourism attraction.

Diaoling Town in Linkou County was a central revolutionary town where the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces fought a long struggle against Japanese invaders, and where our People’s Liberation Army pursued and suppressed the Central Hui Bandits. The “Four Martyrs Cemetery,” located on a small hill in the town center, adds an even more solemn atmosphere. The four martyrs are Wang Zhaochang, Yin Liangyu, Zhang Jiantang, and Li Lei — our military and political cadres who heroically sacrificed their lives in the struggle to defend the newly established people’s government. The cemetery of the four martyrs was built on the small hill where they once fought. This hill, less than 70 meters high, features overlapping ridges and is covered with tall, steadfast pine and cypress trees that stand guard day and night over the spirits of the four martyrs.

After the liberation on August 15, 1945, reactionary forces launched a frenzied counterattack against our newborn people’s government. To eliminate the bandit threat, the 359th Brigade of the Eighth Route Army, which had been dispatched from Yan’an to the Northeast, along with the bandit-suppression forces of the Mudanjiang Military Region and the Hejiang Military Region, carried out the “Three Battles of Diaoling.” After countless battles against the bandits, they eliminated over ten thousand of them and captured bandit leaders Xie Wendong, Li Huatang, Zhang Yuxin, Che Liyan, and Yu Tingzhou. Except for Li Huatang, who died in a vehicle crash during transport, the others were publicly tried and executed by our people’s government. The four martyrs gave their lives in these battles. Their names shine as brightly as the sun and moon, illuminating the ages.

The town borders Yilan County to the north, connects to Boli County to the northeast and east, neighbors Jiantang Township to the south, and links to Sandaotong Town to the west. The total area of Diaoling Town is 673.77 square kilometers, with cultivated land covering 337,544.7 mu."

Most of the town lies in low mountainous areas, with a small portion in river valley plains. The area is surrounded by mountains and crisscrossed with rivers.
