Linkou Xinglong Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Xinglong Temple in Linkou County, Heilongjiang Province, was originally built in 1936 at its former site on Linkou South Mountain, commonly known as the Great Temple of South Mountain, covering an area of nearly 12,000 square meters. It suffered severe damage during the Cultural Revolution, and the temple was razed to the ground.

After the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, religious policies were gradually reinstated. With the care and support of the county party committee and the county government, the temple was re-approved for reconstruction in 1991. Due to the occupation of the original site by military forces, the newly built Xinglong Temple was relocated to Yangmugang in Linkou Town, covering an area of 15,000 square meters. To provide proper conditions for monks and propagate the Dharma for the benefit of all beings, the temple underwent redevelopment and planning. In the 1990s, nearly 1,000 square meters of auxiliary buildings were constructed on the east and west sides to serve as halls, living quarters, and dining facilities. In 2000, since Venerable Shi Wusheng took charge of Xinglong Temple, the monastery has upheld strict monastic discipline and enjoyed flourishing Dharma connections, accelerating the construction progress. Successively, the mountain gate, a 500-meter-long red Arhat wall, the Heavenly King Hall, the Thousand Buddha Twin Pagodas, the Mahavira Hall, the Bell Tower, the Drum Tower, the Dharma lecture hall, and the Buddhist artifacts distribution center were built. Facilities such as the chanting hall, the vegetarian dining hall, and the Huazang Library were also established. A total of 29 Buddha statues were enshrined. Currently, the temple has reached a considerable scale. Xinglong Temple enjoys convenient transportation, a superior geographical environment, and pristine natural scenery. As a result, devotees from nearby cities and counties gather to participate in temple events during Buddhist festivals. On holidays, thousands of local devotees visit the temple to offer incense and pay homage to the Buddha. At present, Linkou Xinglong Temple has become a distinctive local sacred site for Buddhist culture, education, and sightseeing, and is also one of the larger Buddhist temples in the southeastern region of Heilongjiang Province.
