Lotus Power Station Scenic Area

The Lotus Power Station Scenic Area is located in Lianhua Town. It consists of the First Dam, the Second Dam, the Lakeside Corridor, and more. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful lake views, power plant buildings, and generator units. The winding corridor from the dam to the lake center is an ingenious man-made masterpiece. Walking along the corridor to the lake’s heart reveals a deliberately placed commemorative stone built during the power station’s construction — “Lotus Lake.” This massive stone, weighing over a hundred tons, stands proudly in the center of the lake, giving you a sense of humanity’s triumph over nature. Strolling along the Lakeside Corridor allows you to take in the stunning beauty of the lake and surrounding mountains. The Second Dam Guesthouse is situated atop the Lotus Power Plant dam and is also known as the Lake-Viewing Pavilion. It offers picnic services. Here, you can also sample distinctive local aquatic products such as the large fathead carp and silver carp from Lotus Lake.

Lianhua Town: Located in the northwest of Linkou County and adjacent to Hailin City, the nationally significant large-scale hydroelectric power station — the Lotus Power Station — is less than 2 kilometers from the town center. The Mudan River flows through the town, providing abundant water resources and fertile soil, making it suitable for growing cash crops such as flue-cured tobacco and soybeans. The town has a total of nine villages and settlements, with a population of 12,030.
