Martyrs' Cemetery of Sanyuanpu Korean Ethnic Town

The Martyrs' Cemetery of Sanyuanpu Korean Ethnic Town was relocated in the spring of 1967 from four burial sites—Diaoyutai, Radar Company, Datielu, and Anren—to the northern hill of the Sanyuanpu Nursery. In 2007, it was renovated with funding from the Civil Affairs Bureau. In front of the cemetery lies a small square of approximately 200 square meters, with a three-tier stone stairway made up of 33 cement steps directly ahead. The first tier of the stairway features two stone pillars on the left and right, with the inscriptions “Great in Life” and “Glorious in Death” engraved on their fronts respectively. Between the two pillars is an arched steel frame bearing the words “Martyrs' Cemetery” in large characters. The stairway leads directly to the burial ground, which is surrounded by pine and cypress trees.

The cemetery houses the remains of 93 martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Liberation War, including Liu Guangbing (from Qingyang Village, Xubian Township, Sichuan Province), as well as one Japanese nurse from the mobile hospital of the Chinese army. It also commemorates one Korean ethnic air force pilot from the Korean People's Army who died in the Korean War, and four deceased officers and soldiers from the 7209 Unit of the Shenyang Air Force during peacetime, totaling 99 individuals.
