Xiangyang Town Martyrs' Cemetery

Xiangyang Town Martyrs' Cemetery, located on the mountainside behind Xiangyang in Liuhe County, covers a building area of 35 square meters and a protected area of 3,000 square meters. The front of the memorial monument is inscribed with "Revolutionary Martyrs Monument."

The cemetery is built against the mountain and surrounded by a pine forest. It consists of one monument and twelve martyrs' tombs. The front of the monument is inscribed with "Revolutionary Martyrs Monument." The monument was built in 1976 under the initiative and funding of Xiangyang Central School. Due to long-term weathering and corrosion, it is now severely damaged. Thirteen martyrs are buried here, including a company commander named Wang Guangrong, who was killed when ambushed by local bandits while passing through Yuliangzi Village in Xiangyang Town on a mission. The other eleven unnamed martyrs were New Fourth Army soldiers who died in the Lanshan Campaign and during the assault on Ganjingzi Village in Xiangyang Town, as well as one government worker who sacrificed his life after the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Xiangyang Town: Located on the southwestern border of Liuhe County, Xiangyang Town lies at the junction of two provinces and four counties. It borders Xinbin County and Qingyuan County of Liaoning Province to the west and north, respectively, and faces Tonghua County to the south, enjoying a strategically advantageous location.
