Memorial Site of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army

The Memorial Site of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism destination.

On July 26, 2003, the Songshan Town of Panshi City and the Panshi Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau jointly established the Patriotic Education Base at the Memorial Site of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army. Songshan Town is located in the southeastern part of Panshi City and is a mountainous town. In 1932, Chinese and Korean farmers in the Hama River area of Panshi staged an anti-Japanese uprising. Under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, they formed the Panshi, Huadian, Yitong, and Shuangyang Workers' and Peasants' Volunteer Army, commonly known as the Panshi Guerrilla Unit, which was later renamed the 32nd Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army Southern Manchuria Guerrilla Unit. Yang Jingyu served as the political commissar. They carried out anti-Japanese activities in areas such as Nanyude, Dongde, Shimenzi, Xiaqiangzi, Dasaili, Aigeng, and Taiping in Songshan Town, with two Korean soldiers sacrificing their lives in Yude. To commemorate the martyrs, educate future generations, and promote the spirit of the Anti-Japanese United Army, the Songshan Town Party Committee and the Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau raised funds through various channels to establish the Memorial Site of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army and held a grand unveiling ceremony. Since its completion, the site has received numerous elementary and middle school students each year for revolutionary tradition education.
