Xiaodongtian Scenic Area

Xiaodongtian is a natural landscape formed after the last volcanic eruption in 1702 and subsequent 300 years of wind and sun erosion. It stands diagonally opposite the Ziyun Pavilion. The Xiaodongtian landscape consists of the Prince Pine, Leaning Rocks, Dongtian Stone, Thousand-Meter Cliff, Heavenly Granary, and the ruins of Tongxin Temple. Surrounded by water on three sides and connected to a mountain on one, it features calm waters, peculiar rocks, verdant pines, and serene valleys—like a vibrant painting nestled between mountains and water, offering a unique northern “heavenly grotto,” just as the saying goes: “Pure land gives birth to wondrous stones, only at Xiaodongtian.”
