Jinshan period: During the Liao–Jin era, the ancient city was square-shaped. The surface within the city has scattered relics including blue bricks, floral-patterned roof tile fragments, and ceramic vessel fragments. Nearby, urn burials have been discovered. About 200 meters northeast of the city site, a hearth pit site was found, with evidence of red burned earth and ashes, along with unearthed relics such as an iron tripod. Approximately 150 meters northeast of the city, a stone chamber tomb built with slate slabs was once discovered but no longer exists.

Xinli Township: Xinli Township is located in the southeastern part of Shuangliao City, on the northern side of the Dongliao River, facing Lishu County across the river. It borders Gongzhuling City to the east and adjoins the farms of the Nongken (State Farm) Management Area to the north. The Shuangxin Road leads directly to Shuangshan Town and connects with the Changtong Highway, offering convenient transportation.

The township covers a total area of 66 square kilometers, with cultivated land spanning 3,838 hectares, including 1,500 hectares of paddy fields. There are 12 administrative villages, 2 directly managed farms, and 52 villages in the township. The total number of households is 4,218, and the population is 16,333.
