Introduction Èze is a small village located between Nice and Monaco. The village is uniquely built along the steep cliffs, resembling the way eagles nest, which is why it is also known as the “Eagle’s Nest Village.” Perched high on a hilltop, the village is surrounded by walls to defend against invasions — this distinctive fortified village style is unique to the region and remains remarkably well-preserved to this day. Though small in size, the village features a maze-like network of streets. The former site of the village center, once a raised citadel, has now been transformed into a tropical garden. From here, there are stunning views of the Fiera Strait and the Mediterranean Sea. Transportation It takes 15 minutes to reach by train from Nice. Get off at the old station and then take a taxi to the town center. Alternatively, you can take bus line 112 from Nice, which takes about 20 minutes to arrive at the foot of Mont Agel (Èze). The first bus departs at 7:20 AM, with morning departures at 9:00, 10:30, and 12:15. Afternoon return buses run at 1:30 PM, 3:20 PM, 5:20 PM, and 7:05 PM. Tickets / Opening Hours 2.5 euros.
